The fall auction will be held by Bonhams & Butterfields and the theme is to feature diverse group of collection of Arts and Crafts and Deco of contemporary studio artists and designers from California. It’s a celebration to the mark the 50th year of Nyquist as designer. The preview will be held between 25 and 27 September 2009 and the auction will begin 1300 hours on September 28, 2009. These outrageous pieces weren't exactly suitable for everyday homeowner's furniture collections, but I had the feeling that many of these over-the-top items were prototypes - of what could become the new trend in contemporary pieces for the every day home. In some weird way - I felt like I was in the midst of contemporary pioneers... Some magnificent contemporary pieces were to be seen at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York.
