Kitchen cabinets are compartments in the kitchen where food, pots, pans, small cooking appliances, and cooking utensils may be kept. In some cases, big appliances, such as the stove, oven, and refrigerator, may be integrated within kitchen cabinets. Kitchen cabinets function mainly for the organization of the kitchen. However, in some stylish kitchens, kitchen cabinets may also spice up the look a bit.

All about kitchen cabinets

Modern kitchen cabinets refer to built-in compartments under and over kitchen countertops. Many of these kitchen cabinets are pre-made while others can be custom built, according to preferences and the appliances and items you want to keep within these kitchen cabinets.

Prior to World War I, kitchen cabinets were limited to cupboards and pantry storage. The items kept herein were usually dry goods, and kitchen and dining utensils. Right after World War II, Formica and other laminates became all the rage in kitchen countertops. This led to the development in kitchen design, as well as in kitchen cabinets. Kitchens became flowing and seamless. This led to kitchens and kitchen cabinets as most now know them.

Kitchen cabinets are usually made of wood. The difference in costs have to do with the type of wood used. Kitchen cabinets made of solid wood are the most expensive. Next to this are the kitchen cabinets made of plywood. The least expensive are the kitchen cabinets made of particle wood. Solid wood kitchen cabinets often look beautiful, despite their setting. In the end, how much you spend on kitchen cabinets may affect the durability and longevity of these fixtures.

How to organize kitchen cabinets

Sometimes, people make the mistake of just stuffing everything in their kitchen cabinets. No one is going to see the insides anyway, right? However, disorganized kitchen cabinets may mean a lot of wasted time just looking for items. A quick organization of these kitchen cabinets may make a big difference. Here are some tips:

1. Determine which appliances, cooking tools, and utensils you use the most. Allot kitchen cabinets for these. The assigned kitchen cabinets should be the most accessible.

2. This goes the same for dry goods that you use the most. Morning cereals, spices, and the like should be kept within easy reach.

3. It may help to organize the kitchen cabinets for dry goods according to their content. You can assign kitchen cabinets for goods in cans, those that you consume often, spices, those in bottles, and the like.

We have had your kitchen cabinets for many years. They are very attractive, but the drawers have problems. The plastic device which attaches to the back of the cabinet and supports the metal drawer runner seems to be the weak point. We have had to replace several of them. At present I have three left side spare supports on hand. As fate would have it I need a right side support.
I would appreciate it if you would send me three or four right side plastic supports. I would also appreciate any advice you can offer to avoid these failures in the future.
