The patio is a great place to hold a party or gathering on a fine and sunny day. However, when temperature drops, especially during autumn and winter, the party is forced to move indoors or break up early. If making a bonfire is not possible, then homeowners should look into outdoor heating devices to keep the party going outside.
Types of outdoor heating devices
There are many devices for outdoor heating. Here are just a few types that homeowners can look into.
Outdoor heating device: patio heaters
A patio heater is a kind of outdoor heating device that resembles a stand alone lamp. Instead of light, this outdoor heating device emits heat that’s hot enough to warm the people in the immediate vicinity. Patio heaters that have flame burners are fueled by LPG or propane and can produce heat that can radiate up to nine meters. Patio heaters can also run on other types of natural gas and even electricity. Some restaurants use patio heaters in their al fresco areas to provide heat for their diners.
Outdoor heating device: table top heaters
Table top outdoor heating devices, on the other hand, can cater to smaller settings or smaller spaces. A table top heater can provide just enough heat for a small group of people. This is outdoor heating device can easily raise the temperature of the immediate surroundings.
Outdoor heating device: fire pits and patio fireplaces
Homeowners who want to have the feel of an authentic pit or bonfire can opt to use an outdoor heating device called the fire pit. A fire pit is like a low coffee table with a fire in the middle. A metal or screen dish can be placed above the fire to protect people from the flames or crackling wood. Homeowners can also invest in patio fireplaces to warm up their outdoors. Patio fireplaces can be wood-fired or work using other fuels such as gas. Some outdoor fireplaces even have attachments or spaces where guests can also cook food on.
Outdoor heating device: chimineas
Another outdoor heating device is the chiminea. The first chimineas resembled clay vessels with large bulbous bodies and long narrow necks. Chimineas are front-loading, hence, these have openings at the front where the fire can be lit, while the smoke goes up the narrow neck. Modern chimineas, however, resemble standalone lanterns. Some modern chimineas can also be equipped with a rack where food can be cooked or grilled on.
