The patio is that place where one can enjoy the great outdoors without quite leaving the comforts of the home. Here, people can entertain guests and visitors for cookouts, parties, or any type of gathering. The patio is also a good place to chill in, when one just wants to have a breath of fresh air or the warmth of the afternoon sun. With a good book in one hand and a drink on the other, anyone can just relax and watch the world go by. For homeowners who use the patio as a place for gatherings or for relaxation, installing patio furniture in this area is a good idea. They can choose from different kinds of patio furniture sets depending on the local weather and their preferences. Patio furniture sets often come a set of four to six chairs and a patio table.
Patio tables
Patio tables are important pieces of furniture that are found in most homes. There are many kinds of patio tables, but these are generally classified into two types –- the low-rise coffee table-types and the high-rise dining table types.
Low rise patio tables complement patio furniture sets that are intended for lounging use. Their low elevation from the ground makes it easy for people to reach out for their contents, especially if they are sitting on chaise lounges or patio sets.
The patio is also a good place to dine in. High-rise patio tables are better suited for outdoor banquets or intimate gatherings over food. Patio dining sets also come with patio chairs or seats that are high enough for ease and comfort during eating.
Types of tables according to material
Patio tables, as well as the rest of the patio sets, can be made out of a variety of materials. Here are some of the basic types of patio tables according to make.
Wooden patio tables
Wooden patio tables are generally sturdy pieces of furniture. Teak, cedar, and cypress are just a few of the types of wood that are used in making wooden patio tables. Though these patio tables are solid and weighted just right, there can be an issue with longevity. Wooden patio tables can fall prey to termites, weather changes, and disuse. But with proper treatment of the wood and proper maintenance, wooden patio tables can stand the test of time.
Wicker patio tables
Though also organic in nature, wicker patio tables are more lightweight than wood. Wicker furniture, however, can also turn brittle through time and if not cleaned and used properly.
Metal patio tables
Wrought iron and aluminum are the kinds of metals often used in patio tables. These are sturdy and can last a long time.
